The Waiver Wire: Gameweek 8

We love a good differential pick here at FF92 and we are BACK once again with another crack at the Waiver Wire in 2022/23! Here are some low ownership assets that should serve you well in (an albeit, diminished) Gameweek 8 and beyond…

Renan Lodi – Nottingham Forest – Defender – 26% Rostered

Rostering Nottingham Forest defenders hasn’t been a great idea so far this season but maybe Renan Lodi can change that this week. The Brazilian wing back has seen nine goals fly in (at the wrong end) during his first two games in a Forest shirt but will be hoping his fortunes change this week against Fulham.

The former Atleti man comes with a big reputation and could be a decent Fantrax asset in a left wing back role. I have Fulham down as slight favourites for the Friday night clash but they give up plenty of chances themselves which Lodi and XI will be desperate to exploit.

Joe Willock – Newcastle United – Midfielder – 48% Rostered

While Allan Saint Maximin, Kieran Trippier and even Joelinton grab the plaudits for a revitalised Newcastle United, Joe Willock is a vital part of their midfield and it’s a surprise he hasn’t found himself on the scoresheet (or at least with an assist or two) so far this season.

After a disappointing afternoon for the Toon against Crystal Palace last time, the visit of Bournemouth represents a great opportunity for Willock to open his account for the season. He always seems to get a solid six or seven points in Fantrax so any attacking return will surely lead to a decent score for the midfielder.

Neal Maupay – Everton – Forward – 36% Rostered

Finally, the guy who has frustrated 90% of Fantrax managers is back and ready to frustrate once more! Neal Maupay is that guy who scores when you face him and scores 1.5 points when you start him yourself. Well, his Everton transfer makes him relevant once more and 10 points in a 0-0 draw on his debut shows he’s ready to get up to his old tricks once more.

Maupay faces an unpredictable West Ham side this week hoping to open his account at Goodison Park after a lively debut against Liverpool. Do you dare take the punt on the frustratingly fabulous Frenchman? You may be left with few choices in a Gameweek with only seven matches!
