Simple fact: a good differential pick is the difference between winning a crucial Fantrax matchup 99% of the time. It’s all very well (and also, essential) having a core of top players. However, that low ownership gem that no one thought of can, more often than not, be the difference between a narrow loss and a convincing win which leaves your rivals in awe of your football knowledge.
Each week on Fantasy Football 92, we pick a full eleven consisting of low ownership players which you can help yourselves to in your league in order to (hopefully) grab yourself the win. All of our differentials are 60% owned or lower.
Here are your picks for Gameweek 31…
Alphonse Areola | Goalkeeper | Fulham | 55% Owned
Alphonse Areola has been a bit of a Differential hero this season! A combination of a high save ratio and a chance of a clean sheet makes him one of the better low ownership picks. You’d think the likes of Adama Traore and Pedro Neto will keep him busy in Friday’s clash with Wolves.
Arthur Masuaku | Defender | West Ham | 29% Owned
Gameweek 30 saw the return of Fantrax favourite Arthur Masuaku in an advanced role for West Ham once more! The absence of Declan Rice caused a re shuffle and Masuaku took advantage, assisting a Pablo Fornals goal in the win over Wolves. You’d expect Masuaku to get the nod again in their huge top four clash v Leicester this weekend.
Matthew Lowton | Defender | Burnley | 25% Owned
Matt Lowton’s value as a one week pick has its ups and downs. The Burnley full back hasn’t scored well lately but Fantrax managers will think back to that 38.5 point haul vs Crystal Palace! Their home game v Newcastle is their most favourable fixture in a while and represents a good chance for Lowton to get close to that feat!
Fernandinho | Defender | Manchester City | 24% Owned
With Manchester City’s early kick off vs Leeds United sandwiches in between the two legs of their crucial Champions League tie, Fernandinho could represent an easy way into the City’s lineup for Fantrax managers this week. Failing that, Benjamin Mendy or Ferran Torres may be given their chance and are worth a punt if so.
Callum Chambers | Defender | Arsenal | 13% Owned
Callum Chambers has always been a bit of a toggatrax beast and he hasn’t scored very well since returning from injury at right back for Arsenal. His aerial prowess should see him get the nod against a physical Sheffield United side and I expect Chambers to pick up decent ghost points in all areas this weekend.
Nathan Redmond | Midfielder | Southampton | 54% Owned
This may be the most obvious pick of the weekend…our boy Nathan Redmond is on fire! I picked him up in every league as soon as I saw his FA cup performance at Bournemouth and I wasn’t left disappointed as he scored 30.5 points in GW30 thanks to a goal and assist. Three goals and two assists in two games ahead of a trip to West Brom? Yes please!
Johann Berg Gudmundsson | Midfielder | Burnley | 16% Owned
Another FF92 here but with slightly differing fortunes…JBG hasn’t enjoyed his best season. Having said that, he’s chipped in with some important goals when he has been fit and this weekend’s visit of Newcastle represents a good chance to add to his tally.
Okay Yokuslu | Midfielder | West Brom | 9% Owned
An unfashionable but solid pick, Okay Yokuslu is the latest off the boring but dependable conveyer belt. A score of 11.5 points vs Chelsea isn’t to be sniffed at and even though he’s primarily in there to defend, he gets in someone decent attacking positions too. Solid MID5 material.
Jacob Murphy | Midfielder | Newcastle | 3% Owned
Jacob Murphy seems to relish the right wing back position and he proved solid once more in Newcastle’s credible draw against Tottenham. He’s well worth the start if he plays vs burnley in a game you feel Newcastle must attack with purpose.
Mbaye Diagne | Forward | West Brom | 29% Owned
Mbaye Diagne was touted as the perfect sam allardyce Forward when he arrived in England and that’s proving to be the case! West Brom’s shock win at Chelsea gave them another glimmer of hope of survival and you feel they have to follow that up with a win vs Southampton. Diagne will be key to that idea they manage it!
Ivan Cavaleiro | Forward | Fulham | 31% Owned
Ivan Cavaleiro can be a Toggatrax ghost points monster in his own right when he wants to be. If the rumours of Ademola Lookman missing out are true, Cav is a must start in Fantrax leagues this Friday. He will likely be charged with the task of creating his side’s chances against his former club and will most likely take set piece duties too. Our one to watch this week!
