The Waiver Wire: Gameweek 25

In fact this is where the winners will be winners because of their sharp eye for a bargain and the losers will be losers because…well, they ignore the Waiver Wire.

Each week, we will analyse those low ownership players that could win you your match up or even become a mainstay in your roster for weeks and months. Here is what the Gameweek 25 Waiver Wire has to offer

Liam Cooper | Defender | Leeds United

We all love capitalising on a double Gameweek so stacking up on a few Leeds players ahead of their double versus Wolves and Southampton is a smart play.

Liam Cooper will probably be the best available but the likes of Luke Ayling, Ilan Meslier and Kalvin Phillips should be gettable in deeper leagues this week. All should provide 10-15 points at a minimum over the two games.

Nathan Redmond | Midfielder | SOuthampton

This season’s streaming tactic is all about capitalising on those injuries or players lacking form. This was the exact thinking behind my pick up of Nathan Redmond a few weeks ago when I snatched him in most of my leagues and his surprise inclusion back in the Saints XI is paying off so far.

Redmond is looking sharp and, in turn, is giving those ghost points we once loved him for, scoring 11 points without an attacking return vs Wolves last weekend. Saints also benefit from the double Gameweek so a return of around 16 points over 120 is a realistic expectation here.

Josh Maja | Forward | Fulham

From Netflix sensation to Premier League star, Josh Maja announced himself on the scene with a debut double against Everton, suggesting he could be the clinical element that Fulham need to stage a dramatic comeback from the depths of despair this season.

This weekend’s clash with Sheffield United is firmly in the “must win” category for Scott Parker’s side and Maja will be the one expected to put the ball in the back of the net. A return of 30 points in his first double Gameweek in a very encouraging sign.
