The Waiver Wire: Gameweek 18

Those who think Fantrax Leagues are won and lost at the draft are wrong. Very wrong.

In fact this is where the winners will be winners because of their sharp eye for a bargain and the losers will be losers because…well, they ignore the Waiver Wire.

Each week, we will analyse those low ownership players that could win you your match up or even become a mainstay in your roster for weeks and months. Here is what the Gameweek 18 Waiver Wire has to offer.

Axel Tuanzebe | Manchester United | Defender | 1% Owned

With doubts over Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly, the power Axel Tuanzebe May be the one who gets the nod to partner Harry Maguire for United’s trip to Burnley. The hosts may be without Dwight McNeil, Josh Brownhill and Ashley Westwood which would severely limit their creativity and increase Tuanzebe’s chance of a clean sheet.

Ciaran Clark | Newcastle United | Defender | 18% Owned

Ciaran Clark has proved an able stand in at the back for COVID hit Newcastle. The centre back has won plaudits from his manager and so the return of Jamaal Lascelles shouldn’t lead to Clark losing his spot. In fact, it should help Clark gain value ahead of a tasty fixture against Sheffield United. He’s a threat from set pieces too.

Jayden Bogle | Sheffield United | Defender | 5% Owned

Jayden Bogle looks to be the next under the radar ghost point king! After a decent showing vs Crystal Palace and a goal in the cup on Saturday, Bogle would be incredibly unlucky to lose his spot at right wing back this week in a must win match against Newcastle. He looks to be one of The Blades few bright sparks at the moment and is well worth a punt this week!

Cenk Tosun | Everton | Forward | 1% Owned

With manager Carlo Ancelotti confirming talisman DCL will miss the trip to Wolves through injury, Cenk Tosun will get another opportunity to lead the Everton line in GW18. The Turk has become a forgotten man at Goodison and this mini run in the side may be the perfect “shop window” to attract admiring glances from other clubs.
