The Waiver Wire: Gameweek 15

Those who think Fantrax Leagues are won and lost at the draft are wrong. Very wrong.

In fact this is where the winners will be winners because of their sharp eye for a bargain and the losers will be losers because…well, they ignore the Waiver Wire.

Each week, we will analyse those low ownership players that could win you your match up or even become a mainstay in your roster for weeks and months. Here is what the Gameweek 15 Waiver Wire has to offer.

Tosin Adarabioyo | Fulham | Defender | 4% Owned

This one was a test for the spell checker! It’s testament to the turnaround that Scott Parker has masterminded at Craven Cottage that we are recommending so many Fulham players at the moment and Tosin Adarabioyo is the latest on that list.

The introduction of the giant central defender has been a major reason behind Fulham’s turnaround and his performances have translated well to Fantrax points too. In the three consecutive draws, Adarabioyo has accumulated 47 points despite managing only one clean sheet. He faces a Southampton side this weekend potentially without talisman Danny Ings.

Ahmed El Ghazi | Aston Villa | Midfielder | 29% Owned

This feels a little bit like “chasing points” but you just can’t ignore the scores of Ahmed El Ghazi. Including his match winning cameo against Wolves, the former forgotten man has scored three goals and a bucket load of ghost point, accumulating a score of 69 points in 195 minutes. That’s Kevin De Bruyne of 2019/20 levels!

Of course, the imminent return of Ross Barkley may see minutes shared out again. However, the form of El Ghazi (and Bertrand Traore) will surely see Dean Smith in no rush to get Barkley back in ahead of schedule. It’d be particularly cruel on El Ghazi if he find himself back on the bench after an impressive week back in the team and next he faces a Crystal Palace team fresh from an absolute hammering at the hands of Liverpool!

Ashley Barnes | Burnley | Forward | 4% Owned

The Monday night game against Wolves saw Ashley Barnes finally break his long goal draught as they upset the odds to gain another victory.

Who does Barnes face this weekend? None other than Leeds United who seems to have completely forgotten how to defend in recent weeks. Add into the mix that they may be without their most dominant aerial defender in captain Liam Cooper and Barnes could be in for another decent day at the office. Just 4% owned too!
