Simple fact: a good differential pick is the difference between winning a crucial Fantrax matchup 99% of the time. It’s all very well (and also, essential) having a core of top players. However, that low ownership gem that no one thought of can, more often than not, be the difference between a narrow loss and a convincing win which leaves your rivals in awe of your football knowledge.
Each week on Fantasy Football 92, we pick a full eleven consisting of low ownership players which you can help yourselves to in your league in order to (hopefully) grab yourself the win. All of our differentials are 60% owned or lower.
Here are your picks for Gameweek 10…
Sam Johnstone | Goalkeeper | West Brom | 21% Owned
Sam Johnstone has been a bit of a differential favourite due to his high volume of saves rather than his liking for a clean sheet. If ever he is likely to keep a blank it should be this week against Sheffield United…
Darnell Furlong | Defender | West Brom | 23% Owned
…so much so that we have gone for double West Brom in defence this week. Unheard of! We tipped Semi Ajayi in the waiver wire article this week due to the aerial battles he will surely compete with Oli McBurnie. However, Darnell Furlong is West Brom’s most consistent scorer in defence and gets the nod for us here thanks to his 6.91ppm.
Max Lowe | Defender | Sheff Utd | 2% Owned
As you can see, we aren’t expecting many goals in the late Saturday kick off. Max Lowe looks to have nailed down that left wing back slot for now and could score well this week thanks to that license to go forward. It’s a must win game for Sheffield United and so you’d expect the wing backs to be encouraged to attack where possible.
Oleksander Zinchenko | Defender | Man City | 6% Owned
This one is a complete punt! With such a short turnaround between the Champions League game in Greece and the home game against Burnley, I’m expecting plenty of rotation from City this weekend. With Joao Cancelo playing the full 90 minutes against Olympiakos, I’m expecting a change at left back where Oleksander Zinchenko may get the nod.
Joel Matip | Defender | Liverpool | 50% Owned
Liverpool’s one fit senior centre back just happens to be a Fantrax beast in Joel Matip! The Cameroonian defender led Liverpool to a surprise clean sheet in their dominant 3-0 win over Leicester last weekend and will be hoping to do the same in a more favourable fixture against Brighton.
Bertrand Traore | Midfielder | Aston Villa | 29% Owned
Bertrand Traore was the surprise early replacement for the injured Ross Barkley against Brighton at the weekend and he took his chance well, assisting Villa’s only goal and scoring 15 points overall off the bench. Traore should get the nod against this weekend and surprisingly took charge of almost every free kick/corner which will only serve to improve his value.
James Milner | Midfielder | Liverpool | 33% Owned
Liverpool’s jack of all trades came to the rescue once again on Sunday as James Milner put in a man of the match performance in the domination of Leicester. The stand in right back took charge of set pieces and helped himself to two assists and 28.5 Fantrax points. No one knows exactly where he will end up playing against Brighton but wherever it is he is well worth a punt.
John Fleck | Midfielder | Sheff Utd | 28% Owned
Sheffield United have desperately missed the creativity of John Fleck in recent weeks so were delighted to have him back last weekend against West Ham. Although they failed to score once more, Fleck was a driving force from midfield and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. They will need him at his best in the massive game against West Brom this weekend.
Moussa Djenepo | Midfielder | Southampton | 22% Owned
Moussa Djenepo looks like he’s finally finding some consistency in a Southampton shirt. He started once again versus Wolves in GW9 and particularly shone in the first half, collecting nine Fantrax points in the first 45 minutes. Djenepo should benefit from a game plan which should involve plenty of counter attacking against Manchester United this weekend and news that Aaron Wan Bissaka is a minor injury doubt for that game will only increase Djenepo’s confidence.
Michy Batshuayi | Forward | Crystal Palace | 24% Owned
Wilfried Zaha will once again miss out for Crystal Palace against Newcastle this Friday, meaning it is likely that Michy Batshuayi will start up front again with Jordan Ayew. To put it bluntly, Batshuayi is due a goal and Newcastle have been really bad recently….
Raphinha | Forward | Leeds United | 32% Owned
We finally got a glimpse of Leeds United’s new Brazilian against Arsenal and we liked what we saw. Raphinha is highly likely to start again this weekend and will bring plenty of creativity to a Leeds side who will still be scratching their heads as to how they didn’t beat Arsenal last weekend. Added bonus (for Leeds, anyway), Everton’s Lucas Digne has been ruled out of this weekend’s game which will make Raphinha’s afternoon a whole lot easier!
