Simple fact: a good differential pick is the difference between winning a crucial Fantrax matchup 99% of the time. It’s all very well (and also, essential) having a core of top players. However, that low ownership gem that no one thought of can, more often than not, be the difference between a narrow loss and a convincing win which leaves your rivals in awe of your football knowledge.
Each week on Fantasy Football 92, we pick a full eleven consisting of low ownership players which you can help yourselves to in your league in order to (hopefully) grab yourself the win. All of our differentials are 60% owned or lower.
Here are your picks for Gameweek 6
Sam Johnstone | Goalkeeper | West Brom
It worked for us last week so we’re going with it again…Sam Johnstone keeps his place between the sticks! Another decent collection of saves was backed up by a clean sheet, leaving Johnstone with 17 points in GW5!
Dan Burn | Defender | Brighton
Dan Burn grabbed a start in GW5 and Lewis Dunks suspension should see the giant defender start once again this week in a favourable matchup against goal shy West Brom.
Matt Targett | Defender | Aston Villa
In a season short on clean sheets, it seems only right that out of all the defence’s you want a piece of at the moment, it’s Aston Villa’s. Matt Targett is probably the worst of their five defensive assets but is the only one under the 60% ownership threshold which speaks volumes of just how good the unit has been.
Antonee Robinson | Defender | Fulham
We all love a wing back, even ones that play for Fulham. Antonee Robinson looks like he’s taken the place of Joe Bryan at left wing back at the moment and he continues to score well. An improved Fulham have a favourable matchup against Crystal Palace who continue to struggle to create chances at the moment.
Joel Matip | Defender | Liverpool
This may be a long term pick with the heartbreaking news (for us Liverpool fans) that Virgil Van Dijk out for the season. Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are most likely the ones given the task of filling that considerable void, at least until January. Matip will be the more dominant of the two and should hoover up the majority of aerials.
Alex Iwobi | Midfielder | Everton
Everton have started the season like a steam train but go into a favourable matchup against Southampton without two key players in Richarlison and James Rodriguez. Alex Iwobi will almost certainly be one of those given the chance to shine after impressing in a couple of substitute appearances already this season.
Ruben Loftus Cheek | Midfielder | Fulham
Fulham were much improved against Sheffield United and much of that was due to the driving force of Ruben Loftus Cheek in the midfield. The Chelsea loanee was the most advanced of the central midfielders and scored well thanks to shots on target and key passes despite not contributing to Fulham’dMs only goal. He will be looking to impress once again against another of his former loan teams, Crystal Palace.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson | Midfielder | Burnley
He’s back (again)! Long time followers of ours will know we rate the injury prone Johann Berg Gudmundsson very highly and his latest return to fitness ended in an 8 point haul against West Brom. Always a great asset when fit and worth the risk if you’ve got the roster spot.
Leander Dendoncker | Midfielder | Wolves
Nuno Espirito Santo has rotated his squad more over the last few weeks than he has in the previous two Premier League seasons put together! This has seen Leander Dendoncker gain minutes at the expense of both Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves and the Belgian has been scoring well in Fantrax because of it. He’s averaging just over 10 points per game, largely thanks to scores of 12 and 18.5 over his last two appearances. Solid.
Alexis Macallister | Midfielder | Brighton
It wouldn’t be a Differential XI without a flyer in the ranks and Alexis Macallister is exactly that. The Brighton midfielder snatched a last gasp draw for his side in a hotly contested derby against Crystal Palace and will be vying for a place in the side behind the strikers in this week in a favourable fixture against West Brom.
Ademola Lookman | Forward | Fulham
We advised you to pick up Ademola Lookman in out waiver article this week. If he’s still available in your league, go and get him quickly! His floor looks like it will be decent this season and successful dribbles may put him in the ASM category this season. Get him while you can…
