The Waiver Wire: Gameweek 6

In fact this is where the winners will be winners because of their sharp eye for a bargain and the losers will be losers because…well, they ignore the Waiver Wire.

Each week, we will analyse those low ownership players that could win you your match up or even become a mainstay in your roster for weeks and months. Here is what the Gameweek 6 Waiver Wire has to offer!

Ademola Lookman | Fulham | Forward | 24% Owned

We’re always looking for the next ghost point king and we think we may have found him here in Ademola Lookman! Fulham needed a spark and their new man looks like he will be the one to provide it. The signs were there when he scored 7 points in 23 minutes from the bench before the international break against Wolves and his full debut against Sheffield United in GW5 was one to remember, scoring a stunning solo goal and earning 23.5 points in Fantrax. Fulham have a tasty couple of fixtures coming up in Crystal Palace and West Brom and you should look for Lookman if he is available in your league.

Patrick Van Aanholt | Crystal Palace | Defender | 41% Owned

If you’re on the look out for a defender, fantasy favourite Patrick Van Aanholt may be your man! An attacking full back part of a (generally) mean defence is normally a very good combination in this game and PVA loves to bomb forward. Tyrick Mitchell has filled in well for the Dutch man while he’s been struggling with injury but you only have to look at the match stats from Sunday to see that Palace are severely lacking when it comes to attacking intent at the moment, meaning Van Aanholt should be back in the side for the clash with Fulham in GW6.

Theo Walcott | Southampton | Midfielder | 24% Owned

We tipped Theo Walcott to score well on his second debut for Southampton in our Differential XI last week and he did exactly that! A late assist saw him clock up a tasty 19.5 points in a tough fixture against Chelsea. He might end up sharing minutes with the likes of Nathan Redmond and Stuart Armstrong but his performance on Saturday could easily see him lock down that right midfield spot. Armstrong owners may start to feel a little nervous here…

Wesley Fofana | Leicester City | Defender | 15% Owned

With Caglar Soyuncu potentially missing for up to three months with injury, the impressive Wesley Fofana is likely to see more minutes than he may have expected when signing for Leicester this season. The young centre back fitted right in, was dominant in the air (winning seven aerials) and was denied a massive debut Fantrax score by Ross Barkley’s last gasp long range strike. Fofana still scored 11.75 points without the clean sheet and looks like he will be a solid scorer going forward. Now is the time to grab him if you can.
