Differential Potential: Gameweek 30

Simple fact: a good differential pick is the difference between winning a crucial Fantrax matchup 99% of the time. It’s all very well (and also, essential) having a core of top players. However, that low ownership gem that no one thought of can, more often than not, be the difference between a narrow loss and a convincing win which leaves your rivals in awe of your football knowledge.

Each week on Fantasy Football 92, we pick a full eleven consisting of low ownership players which you can help yourselves to in your league in order to (hopefully) grab yourself the win. All of our differentials are 60% owned or lower.

Here are your picks for Gameweek 30!

Goalkeeper

Ben Foster | Watford | 51% Owned

Watford stopper Ben Foster has scored well on numerous occasions, largely down to his lofty save count. The veteran keeper is 6th in the save charts with an impressive 89 stops and he should be very busy once again when Leicester visit Vicarage Road this weekend!

Defenders

Jack Robinson | Sheffield United | 8% Owned

Jack Robinson will have been in very few (if any) Fantrax managers plans ahead of the injury news surrounding namesake O’Connoll. If you took a punt on Robinson for the Aston Villa game on Wednesday you’d have been handsomely rewarded with a 20.5 haul, thanks largely to a rock solid defensive performance. He should get the nod once again for the game against a less than prolific Newcastle.

joao Cancelo | Manchester City | 40% Owned

Rotation is to be expected in this hectic period, especially from Manchester City. With Kyle Walker seeing out the full 90 minutes against, I expect Joao Cancelo to be handed a start in a potentially lucrative fixture at home to Burnley.

Ryan Bertrand | Southampton | 39% Owned

Pre-lockdown, Ryan Bertrand was posting some decent scores thanks to a combination of defensive workrate and attacking involvement through some set pieces. Southampton face Norwich in the early game on Friday and although Bertrand should be a nailed on starter, it gives you plenty of opportunity to drop him and find a replacement for the gameweek.

Midfielders

Ondrej Duda | Norwich City | 51% Owned

I can’t believe that this guy is still under 60% ownership! Ondrej Duda was taken in the 5th round of the recent Community League re-draft and with four double figure score in the seven games he’s played since arriving in the Premier League it’s easy to see why. If he can add attacking returns to his game his upside will be massive!

Erik Lamela | Tottenham Hotspur | 44% Owned

This one is a bit of a punt. With other struggling for fitness, including compatriot Gio Lo Celso, and Dele Alli missing through suspension, Erik Lamela could get the nod for Friday’s game against Manchester United in the role behind the striker. It’s not often we say that Lamela is one of Tottenham’s fitter players!

Aaron Mooy | Brighton | 35% Owned

We were given another ugly reminder of Arsenal’s defensive woes when they took on Manchester City on Wednesday. Brighton may not possess anywhere close to the talent City do but they will no doubt have been watching on with great anticipation knowing that they will be next to have a go at the Gunners rearguard. Most of Brighton’s good stuff comes through Aaron Mooy and he scored exceptionally well in the return fixure at the Emirates earlier this season (18.5 points).

Phil Foden | Manchester City | 23% Owned

In a similar vain to Cancelo, Phil Foden could benefit from Pep’s rotation against Burnley. He wasted no time in his cameo appearance off the bench against Arsenal on Wednesday, scoring a goal and 14.5 points in 25 minutes. Even if he is coming off the bench he is still very useful!

Stuart Armstrong | Southampton | 15% Owned

Stuart Armstrong is another who was finding some form pre-lockdown with three monster scores in his last six. He will be looking forward to an already poor Norwich City defence that has been further hit by injury.

Forwards

Jarrod Bowen | West Ham United | 38% Owned

This guy shouldn’t be under the 60% ownership mark for long. Jarrod Bowen has been on fire for West Ham since joining, scoring 34.5 points in two starts.

Christian Benteke | Crystal Palace | 40% Owned

It wouldn’t be a Differential XI without Christian Benteke! Rumour has it that Big Ben even scored in one of Crystal Palace’s warm up games…
