The Waiver Wire: Gameweek 29

Those who think Fantrax Leagues are won and lost at the draft are wrong. Very wrong.

In fact this is where the winners will be winners because of their sharp eye for a bargain and the losers will be losers because…well, they ignore the Waiver Wire.

Each week, we will analyse those low ownership players that could win you your match up or even become a mainstay in your roster for weeks and months. Here is what the Gameweek 29 waiver wire has to offer!

Ruben Vinagre | Wolves | Defender | 11% Owned

With regular right wing back out injured, Ruben Vinagre deputised at the weekend for Wolves and was part of a superb Wolves win at White Hart Lane. It’s currently unclear how long Jonny will be out for so it’s safe to assume that Vinagre will get the call once again for another very winnable fixture at home against Brighton this week. This pick is one worth making with half an eye on the Gameweek 31 fixtures with Wolves one of the very few teams confirmed to be playing a match (at home vs Bournemouth).

Kiko Femenia | Watford | Defender | 2% Owned

Kiko Femenia’s return coincided with Watford’s best performance of the season in Gameweek 28 (and one of their best in their Premier League history). Watford will hope that their 3-0 victory over champions elect Liverpool will kickstart their survival bid and they will be confident of going to Selhurst Park to get a result against an already safe Crystal Palace. Femenia will relish the challenge of facing an out of form Wilfried Zaha and should pick up a decent number of points through tackles and interceptions.

Ondrej Duda | Norwich City | Midfielder | 48% Owned

Plenty has been made of Emi Buendia’s performances in Togga scoring leagues this season, and rightly so. However, it appears that Ondrej Duda is actually the player to own for Norwich City at the moment. The January arrival scored a tidy 16 points in their victory over Leicester City despite having no involvement in the only goal of the game. Duda seems to have taken over all set piece duties and could be a key player in Norwich’s unlikely quest to secure Premier League survival.

Oli McBurnie | Sheffield United | Forward | 22% Owned

Oli McBurnie had become one of the most consistent differential forward in Togga scoring in recent weeks and continues to fly under the radar. He has taken up the mantle recently held by fellow Sheffield United front man David McGoldrick. McBurnie is clearly currently a favourite of manager Chris Wilder’s and will get another great opportunity to add to his goal tally as the Blades host bottom club Norwich City this weekend.
