The Waiver Wire: Gameweek 28

Those who think Fantrax Leagues are won and lost at the draft are wrong. Very wrong.

In fact this is where the winners will be winners because of their sharp eye for a bargain and the losers will be losers because…well, they ignore the Waiver Wire.

Each week, we will analyse those low ownership players that could win you your match up or even become a mainstay in your roster for weeks and months. Here is what the Gameweek 28 waiver wire has to offer!

Dan Burn | Brighton | Defender | 35% Owned

This week’s defensive pick is a big one. Literally. Dan Burn has to be the tallest full back in world football but it seems to work for him. It certainly does in Togga scoring as he scored 11 points in the last Gameweek despite conceding a goal. This week’s opponents Crystal Palace don’t score many and Burn should score well in any aerial battles with Christian Benteke. Shane Duffy is worth a look this week too.

Tom Cleverley | Watford | Midfielder | 6% Owned

This is a pick with a medium term feel to it as Tom Cleverley has an avoidable fixture this week. The Watford midfielder faces Liverpool on Saturday but his long awaited return is good news for managers short on midfield players for the run in.

Matej Vydra | Burnley | Forward | 5% Owned

Burnley forward duo Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes are likely to be back for the trip to Newcastle this weekend. However, it’d be extremely harsh on Matej Vydra and Jay Rodriguez who have been very impressive when asked to fill the void in recent weeks. Vydra has struck two in two games and deserves the chance to keep the run going in a game that Burnley will fancy themselves to win on current form.
