The Waiver Wire: Gameweek 27

Those who think Fantrax Leagues are won and lost at the draft are wrong. Very wrong.

In fact this is where the winners will be winners because of their sharp eye for a bargain and the losers will be losers because…well, they ignore the Waiver Wire.

Each week, we will analyse those low ownership players that could win you your match up or even become a mainstay in your roster for weeks and months. Here is what the Gameweek 27 waiver wire has to offer!

Shkodran MuStafi | Arsenal | Defender | 36% Owned

Shkodran Mustafi’s ownership has doubled over the last week. If you’re not on board the Mustafi train already, get on it quick!

Arsenal’s defence has improved dramatically recently and a lot of that seems to be down to the German. Over the last game weeks, Arsenal have kept two clean sheets and are undefeated. Mustafi has scored 61 points in that time. That’s DEF1 level!

Eric Bailly | MANCHESTER United | Defender

Eric Bailly was a surprise inclusion in the Manchester United lineup to face Chelsea but he justified his inclusion with a very solid performance.

The enigmatic Ivorian looked very solid and much better on the ball than Victor Lindelof has in recent weeks. Lindelof should be fit again for Watford’s Old Trafford visit but Bailly may get the call up once more against a physical opponent in Troy Deeney.

Erik Lamela | Tottenham | Midfielder | 37% OwnEd

The long term injury to Son Heung Min means another reshuffle will be forced in the Tottenham attack. This means another recall for creative midfielder Erik Lamela is on the cards.

Jose Mourinho went with Stephen Bergwijn and Lucas Moura in attack for the midweek defeat to RB Leipzig. However, the introduction of Lamela in the second half was the catalyst to a much improved performance. It wouldn’t, therefore, be a surprise to see him start at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Oli McBurnie | Sheffield United | Forward | 22% Owned

Sheffield United have shuffled the pack in attack recently and Oli McBurnie has benefitted from it.

The physical front man always looks like a goal threat and tends to score well through bonus points thanks to aerials won.

Speaking of which, Christian Benteke is still criminally underowned in Fantrax…
