Differential Potential: Gameweek 15

Simple fact: a good differential pick is the difference between winning a crucial Fantrax matchup 99% of the time. It’s all very well (and also, essential) having a core of top players. However, that low ownership gem that no one thought of can, more often than not, be the difference between a narrow loss and a convincing win which leaves your rivals in awe of your football knowledge.

Each week on Fantasy Football 92, we pick a full eleven consisting of low ownership players which you can help yourselves to in your league in order to (hopefully) grab yourself the win. All of our differentials are 60% owned or lower.

Here are your picks for Gameweek 15!

Tim Krul | Norwich City | Fixture: Southampton (a) | 32% Owned

Tim Krul was extremely unlucky to be a denied a penalty save against Arsenal at the weekend. Despite Norwich’s defensive frailties, Krul’s shot stopping has made him a viable asset in Fantrax. He’s a good differential option once again this week against Southampton.

Chris Basham | Sheffield United | Fixture: Newcastle United (H) | 49% Owned

The least fashionable of the Sheffield United back five. Despite this (perhaps unfair) tag, Chris Basham continues to score well in Fantrax and should have plenty of aerial battles to contend along with chances to get forward in that unorthodox marauding centre back role.

Angelino | Manchester City | Fixture: Burnley (a) | 22% Owned

As outlined in our waiver wire article, Benjamin Mendy has been less than impressive since returning to the Manchester City lineup. Pep roulette often means a change in full backs anyway, meaning it’s Angelino’s turn.

Sead Kolasinac | Arsenal | Fixture: Brighton (H) | 38% Owned

Sead Kolasinac got the nod under new manager Freddie Ljungberg against Norwich City at the weekend and was a constant threat going forward. Rotation makes him a risk but Kola will score well in a favourable fixture if he keeps his jersey.

Ryan Bertrand | Southampton | Fixture: Norwich City (H) | 15% Owned

Not the most fashionable pick but a combination of having a good matchup and a fondness of crossing the ball should serve Ryan Bertrand well this week. A gamble but one that could bring a clean sheet and assist.

Aaron Mooy | Brighton | Fixture: Arsenal (a) | 6% Owned

Aaron Mooy scored well at the weekend (9 points) in what is the hardest fixture in the Premier League in Gameweek 14. That should serve to encourage owners (all 6% of them) when Brighton travel to play a very beatable Arsenal side. Mooy tends to be in the thick of everything in central midfield which is ideal in a game like this. A goal isn’t out of the question.

Onel Hernandez | Norwich City | Fixture: Southampton (a) | 27% Owned

He’s our latest Allan Saint-Maiximin/John Fleck i.e. he’s constantly featured in our articles. Onel Hernandez is always a threat and added to the ghost points with an assist against Arsenal at the weekend. Simply put: he is the best player on his team. Good fixture this week, too.

Moussa Djenepo | Southampton | Fixture: Norwich City (H) | 32% Owned

We tipped him last week and he came up with the goods thanks to a “handy” assist. Already dubbed “the new Mane”, Moussa Djenepo is fast becoming a favourite at St. Mary’s due to his constant direct style. His constant threat translates to easy points in Fantrax: 19.5 of them at the weekend, to be exact.

Miguel Almiron | Newcastle United | Fixture: Sheffield United (a) | 43% Owned

Miguel Almiron has finally arrived in England! Granted, it was only an assist but a goal involvement is certainly a huge step in the right direction. Will the floodgates now open? Time will tell, butit’s certainly not a bad time to get “Miggy” in your lineup while he is still a differential.

Michy Batshuayi | Chelsea | Fixture: Aston Villa (H) | 26% Owned

What is it they say is the first sign of madness again? Our Michy Batshuayi punt was all kinds of wrong in Gameweek 14 but SURELY he features in midweek against Aston Villa. Tammy Abraham will almost certainly miss out once again and Olivier Giroud’s lacklustre display against West Ham must pave the way for Michy to feature. If he doesn’t play on Wednesday, he’ll surely be considering his future next month…

David McGoldrick | Sheffield United | Fixture: Newcastle United (H) | 23% Owned

Another one of our “flavour of the month players”. David McGoldrick has shot to Fantrax prominance recently, slightly under the radar thanks to the exploits of his team mate Lys Mousset. While Mousset gets all the attacking return, McGoldrick rewards his owners with ghost points thanks to his hard work and creativity. Surely an attacking return for the Irishman is what his performances deserve…
