Official FPL road to top 100k: Gameweek 13

Here’s something a bit different for FFootball 92! As you know, we’re all about draft FPL here but the Official FPL game has been going so well for us this season that it seems only right to delve into that a little. Got to sing when you’re winning…

The Road to the top 100k

It’s looking good at the moment! But the fact that 10 points covers 41,670 places in this version of the game shows how much things can change over the course of a gameweek. In fact, the team is closer to the team ranked 3 million than it is to the team ranked 1st.

Funny old game.

Gameweek 12 Review – 64 Points

Gameweek 12 turned out to be another decent one for Come Digne With Me (I’ve never had Digne in the team, just liked the name). The choice for captain was between Tammy Abraham and Jamie Vardy for the gameweek, a choice I was pleased with at 2.30pm on Saturday. Come 7.30, I was a little more frustrated after Vardy’s 12 point showing. Never mind.

Anthony Martial is here for the duration and while Kevin De Bruyne had a difficult gameweek, his place is safe for the timebeing until it comes to fitting Mo Salah back in there.

Ayoze Perez is for the chopping block (in fact, he’s already been chopped) having failed to show up since I transferred him in following the Southampton hat-trick. Josh King, too, is dangerously close but is having a decent season.

Gameweek 13 Transfers

I’m a fan of an early transfer. Sometimes that has been my downfall. Anticipating a price fall for Benjamin Mendy and a possible rise for Daryl Janmaat, I took the plunge early in order to get a player in who I think will be a great differential this week.

Back in the lineup and facing Norwich City at home, Gylfi Sigurdsson should be the main man for them in Gameweek 13 and has a super low ownership of 3.2% after a difficult start to the campaign. He could be the guy to get you up a few places this week. Medium term, his fixtures don’t look great so this is looking like a one week punt who can be switched out for someone else in the £7.5m range for next week if necessary.

Gameweek 13 Lineup

Here’s how we line up for Gameweek 13! Learning from last week, Jamie Vardy currently has hold of the armband. On his hot run of form and with Brighton lacking their first choice defensive line, it’s hard to see Vardy not registering once more.

Josh King has another favourable fixture and needs to show his value this week to keep his place while anything from Tammy Abraham this week feels like a bonus.

The one selection dilemma feels like a minor one, choosing between Daryl Janmaat (Burnley at home) and (Lord) John Lundstram. Do I go for the more favourable fixture? Or avoid the trap of dropping Lord Lundstram?
