Last Season ⚽
Premier League finish: 5th
Football is a funny old game isn’t it? As the two teams that will most likely be competing for fourth place once again, comparisons are naturally drawn between Arsenal and Chelsea. The two London clubs have had very different pre-seasons.
Both started new regimes under new managers in 2018/19. One manager secured a top four spot along with a European trophy. The other lost the same final and missed out on a Champions League spot for this season. One of them was effectively forced out of their club this summer. Can you guess which one kept their job?
The jury is still out on Unai Emery with a lot of Arsenal fans but I much prefer The Gunners have gone about their managerial business this summer. The Spaniard had Arsenal playing some of their traditional liquid football at times last season but struggled to find the right formula in keeping them out.
The club have been heavily linked with Wilfried Zaha and Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney. Both would improve The Gunners lineup as well as being potentially excellent FPL options.

Ones To Watch 👓
I famously have a massive FPL soft spot for Mesut Ozil. Having wasted a second round draft pick on him last season, that love for the assist king should have faded. It hasn’t. Ozil looked all set to be on his way out of The Emirates following a stormy Europa League final. But murmurs from the Arsenal camp are that after a sparkling display against Bayern Munich in pre-season, Ozil is very much in Emery’s plans. The German will almost certainly fall in lots of drafts this summer. Could easily be a steal in the 5th/6th round.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette will, no doubt, provide great value once again and both should be gone within the first 15 picks of the draft. As much as he has his critics (well-deserved, too),
Shkodran Mustafi’s aggressive defensive style makes him a decent scorer in the Fantrax/Togga scoring format It remains to be seen whether Laurent Koscielny’s imminent departure will have an adverse effect on their already leaky defence.
Granit Xhaka is also a decent value, late round pick thanks to his defensive contributions, set piece duties and shoot and sight approach.
