What better way to welcome in 2019 than with more football.
The year that so nearly belonged to English football is on its way out and a new year of fresh optimism commences. Especially if you’re from the red half of Merseyside.
Gameweek 21 also signals the end of another crazy festive football calendar as FPL managers around the world breathe a sigh of relief. Sort of.
I dread the day that the Winter break is introduced.
Heres your ranks for Gameweek 21.
Plenty of clean sheet options this week. Bernd Leno leads my ranks despite that Anfield horror show. That’s only because the Gunners host Fulham and now actually possess some fit defenders.
Kepa Arizzabalaga is equally a good shout as Chelsea face Southampton. The Blues can actually defend, too.
David De Gea and Manchester United are also due one.
I envy Lucas Digne owners. He tops my ranks once again.
Many of you will have dropped Matt Doherty as he faced Spurs at Wembley: probably the correct play. Never drop Matt Doherty.
Sead Kolasinac should be dynamite once again this week, providing Arsenal revert back to three at the back again.
Differential wise, Florent Hadergjonaj seems to have moved into Huddersgirld’s midfield…
It seems that Paul Pogba is actually quite good at football. His incredible form raises questions of his attitude under Jose Mourinho. What is, however, undeniable is that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has unlocked a world class footballer in the last month.
Ryan Fraser, one of this season’s surprise stars, is due a haul while Felipe Anderson should return after a week off (apparently he did actually play at Turf Moor) against Burnley.
Differentials? Ghost point fanatic Philip Billing could be in for some attacking returns in a must win game at home to Burnley.
Once again the forward pool provides numerous quality options.
The league’s top scorer against the league’s worst defence makes top spot a no brainer.
Harry Kane and Eden Hazard should also be in for big weeks while whoever starts up front for the new look, attacking Manchester United side should be good value.
We really are spoilt for choice for forwards. Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane, Gerard Deulofeu and in form Jurgen Locadia are among the unfortunate names to miss out on this particular top 20.
